We have a wide range
of volunteering opportunities at The Art Ministry. We provide a fun and
rewarding environment, with appropriate training and support, and the payment
of reasonable expenses. No matter what your skills are, we are sure
that we can make use of them. There are always
opportunities for volunteer class helpers. Sessions run throughout the week,
as shown on the Schedule page, and you can pick and
choose which classes you would like to help with. Our Monday
evening Children’s Class is particularly suitable for children doing the Duke
of Edinburgh’s Award. Some of our
classes are term time only. No classes involve personal care. In
addition to class assistants, we also need volunteers behind the scenes to
help The Art Ministry run smoothly, such as helping with administration,
fund-raising and grant applications. If you have a particular
skill that you would like to teach to a class, such as card making, glass
painting etc, then we would be happy for you to volunteer your services on an
occasional basis. We would provide materials and cover reasonable expenses. We were thrilled to receive a
Centennial Certificate of Appreciation from the Lions Club of Leigh on Sea in recognition of The
Art Ministry's "Outstanding Service to the Community". We
couldn't do it without our wonderful volunteers. Congratulations to Sarah and
Amie for being nominated for the 2019 Castle Point Volunteer Awards in
recognition of their service to The Art Ministry. Congratulations to Allan for
being awarded a "Good For Leigh Award" for "the sheer
dedication and hard work he puts in to The Art Ministry". The Art Ministry
asked some of our volunteers why they were inspired to make a difference with
us. Click here

Application Form We
are currently seeking new trustees to help us run The Art Ministry. A trustee
at The Art Ministry is not a passive role, as we have no salaried management
team, so you will help to actively manage The Art Ministry. You will engage
with our 5 salaried group leaders, 35 volunteers and 100+ service users, as
well as other organisations operating in our sector. It's a great opportunity
to broaden your horizons, develop new and/or use existing skills and to make
a contribution to a very worthwhile local charity. Trustee meetings are held
quarterly, usually on a weekday evening. Each trustee has a specific remit,
such as Fundraising or Volunteer Management, and they all share in general
management and responsibility for completing the action points that result
from the trustee meetings. Please click on the appropriate text to see the
role descriptions: To download an application form click here: Trustee
Application Form Please
feel free to contact us or your local volunteer centre to find out more about
our opportunities. The Art Ministry
has just been recognised by the Essex High Sheriff for the way it looks after
its volunteers. It was shortlisted for the High Sheriff’s Award for Volunteer
Centres in 2014 and 2015. |
