Members pay a nominal fee for each class they attend.
These fees go some way to meeting our costs, but the majority of our funding
comes in the form of grants that we have applied for. One of our trustees, Allan
Webb is responsible for grant submissions. In recent times we have been successful in securing
grants from Children in Need, Lloyds TSB Foundation and Essex County Council. In addition to applying for grants, we also
generate income through fundraising activities, such as charity meals,
collections and sponsored events. Trustee Anita Lysiak chairs the Fundraising
Committee. In recent times we have received donations from the Rotary Club of
Benfleet, Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, Southend Round Table and the
Distaff Club. We are especially grateful for the support we
have had from the Fowler, Smith and Jones Charitable Trusts. We have just started a relationship with The Hood
Group and its employees. They are raising funds on our behalf for the
Children’s Class and supporting us in other areas. In September we gratefully
received a cheque from The Hood Group.
