SPONSORSHIP
The Art Ministry has been successful in a number of respects this year.Generous grants have enabled us to pay three suitably qualified people to take responsibility for the classes for The Visually Disabled, the Outreach Class, The Physically Disabled and for The Teens Club. We are extremely fortunate in the quality and energy of the people who have taken up these positions. They do more than is required of them and they do it well. Along with the generosity of our Funding they havemade it possible for the Art Ministry to grow .
To have employees in these positions is essential if the work of The Art Ministry is to continue with it’s present momentum. We have been successful in obtaining funds which have enabled us to work in mny sectors, and even local schools as well as being involved in several prodigious pprojects which have received wide acclaim.
Each year we need to look for sponsorship. Each class teacher receives at present £1.500 pa.
We wish to ask you at local firms and organisations to ‘adopt’ one of our classes or help us towards a variety of projects. You might not only pay for the teacher but you would be encouraged to take an interest in the class. This is almost certain to be of benefit as far as local publicity and awareness of your organisation is concerned as it would enable you to be involved in helping the disadvantaged or young people in the centre of Hadleigh.
We are also considering a "Friends of The Art Ministry" club or accreditation. More news on this once the Trustees have decided how it could work A personal appeal from Angela Cotton Director and Founder For three years now we have had qualified, paid teachers in charge of the classes and taking a special interest in each of its members. This has worked very well indeed. They have taken responsibility for all aspects of the class, liaison with Social Services, advertising, preparation, exhibiting, fund raising and organising transport .The £1.500 we have been able to pay each one of them for each of these years has been money truly well spent. We provide the money we need for equipment and materials. We cannot, however provide the money to pay the teacher. We have to ask for sponsorship to do that and believe it is money given to a valuable asset in the local community. Therefore, we seek sponsorship. This is what we are now doing. A local firm or body that were to sponsor us would have the joy of getting to know their group personally and learn the difference that they make in their lives. They would receive, in return, a considerable amount of exposure and presence to boost local public awareness and raise their profile People are referred to the class by The Social Services, Southend Hospital and several charities for Disabled People. Posters and pamphlets produced by the Art Ministry are displayed in clinics and doctors’ surgeries and given to individuals by Health Workers. Each would carry the name of the sponsor. This would also appear at exhibitions of work and in media coverage. A Club for the Physically Disabled is something that finds ready acceptance and appeals positively to the public and any individual or firm that are associated and sponsored our works would of course be well regarded. We would ask you to consider our appeal and, if at all interested, to contact us so that you can visit us and learn more about us.
